Call for Nominations
The Board of the Canadian Pediatric Anesthesia Society (CPAS) is looking for nominations for two newly created positions to serve on the CPAS Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council consists of members of the CPAS Board, CPAS Education Committee, CPAS Quality Improvement Committee, and Telemedicine Rounds Chair.
Successful candidates will support the CPAS mission and promote CPAS activities and membership. The Advisory Council provides valuable input on Board decisions and the scientific mission of CPAS including adjudication of abstracts, grant applications, and quality improvement projects. A particular interest in promoting CPAS in social media communications is an advantage.
The CPAS Board is looking for two energetic physicians who are passionate about promoting pediatric anesthesia. We are seeking to enhance CPAS representation by offering positions to:
- new Faculty (within 3 years of fellowship) in Pediatric Anesthesia and
- Pediatric Anesthesia providers in non-academic settings.
Candidates with clinical practices consistent with these aims or who can identify issues relevant to these groups are preferred.
What you need to know:
This is a volunteer position. Either position may be asked to support the social media profile of CPAS by sharing achievements of CPAS members, including academic activities, meetings, and awards.
Successful candidates for both positions will be expected to attend approximately 4 committee and 2 board meetings per year. Meetings are typically conducted virtually with occasional in-person meetings. The approximate time commitment will be 5 hours per month. Mentorship for each position is available.
If you are interested in becoming more involved in CPAS, you are welcome to submit a nomination. Please provide a 200 word ‘position statement’ and name, email address and contact telephone number for yourself and for a referee who supports your nomination to info@pediatricanesthesia.ca, with “CPAS_ Advisory_Nomination” in the Subject line. Both the candidate and the nominated referee must be financial members of CPAS.
